Alexis Budiselic RSW, Practicum Student Counsellor
I am a Registered Social Worker and Master of Social Work student who brings warmth, empathy, and deep respect for each person’s unique journey. My practice is grounded in a trauma-informed and client-centred approach, recognizing that our stories are shaped not only by personal experiences but also by the broader systems that impact our lives.
Much of my experience has been in healthcare, where I have supported people living with physical and mental illness, those navigating grief and loss, and individuals and families impacted by substance use. I also bring experience working with complex family dynamics and have a strong commitment to harm reduction, meeting people where they are and honouring their choices and dignity.
Drawing from my own diverse lived experiences, I create space where all identities are affirmed and valued. I am passionate about supporting freedom and dignity for all people, particularly those living under oppressive systems, and I integrate anti-racist, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, and social justice principles into my practice.
I believe in walking alongside clients as they navigate challenges, holding space for their strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth. With a focus on safety, understanding, and collaboration, I support clients in exploring their experiences, reconnecting with themselves, and building the tools they need to move forward in ways that feel right for them.

Sean Paredes
MA Candidate, Practicum Student Counsellor
Hello!
My name is Sean Paredes and I am currently a student at Yorkville University completing the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. While I am currently an intern, my approach to counselling is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change can happen when people feel safe, heard, and understood.
Before entering the counselling field, I spent many years supporting children, youth, and families in both educational and community settings. Throughout this time, I had the opportunity to support children with diverse learning, developmental, and behavioural needs while collaborating closely with families and multidisciplinary teams. These experiences shaped my appreciation for the importance of compassionate, strengths-based support, in order to help foster the resiliency of an individual.
In my counselling work, I draw from several approaches, including but not limited to cognitive behavioural therapy, emotionally focused therapy, as well as solution-focused and strengths-based practices. I aim to create a collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences, make meaning of life’s challenges, and reconnect with their inner strengths and values.
I feel both excited and honoured to support a wide array of clients and their needs, as we work towards greater clarity, connection, and healing.
